Who is Moxies for?
Moxies is designed for tween girls who want to connect with their friends and explore the digital world, whether they’re going online for the first time or their parents are seeking healthier, safer alternatives to existing platforms. It’s a space where girls can safely chat, play, and express their creativity through features like customizable avatars, group chats, and rewards—in a moderated environment built for their age and needs. For parents, Moxies provides peace of mind with tools and safeguards that encourage positive interactions, digital literacy, and balanced technology use, creating a better online experience for their daughters.
Moxies fills a critical gap by providing a safe, supportive space for kids to engage with technology. Unlike many platforms not designed for youth, Moxies prioritizes digital well-being, privacy, and mental health. It helps kids connect with friends, play online, and build confidence, while addressing parental concerns about harmful content, safety, and overuse.
How do I get an account on Moxies?
Head over to the App Store to download! Right now Moxies is only available on iOS for iPad and iPhone.
How much does it cost to have a Moxies account?
Right now, there are two types of accounts of Moxies. Basic and Premium.
The Basic plan gives your daughter access to the playful Moxies experience at no cost:
- Design and customize 1 Moxie avatar
- Play standard quests and challenges
- Earn standard digital items
- Meaningful screen time with built-in limits
The Basic plan does not include:
- Private community groups
- Friend connections
- Invite-only group access
The Premium plan unlocks the full Moxies experience.In addition to everything in the Basic plan, Premium members get:
- Fully moderated, invite-only community group chats
- The ability to connect with real-life friends from school, teams, camps, or clubs
- No public profiles or messaging strangers
- Chat available only from 7:30am-8pm
- No photo or video sharing
- Multiple custom Moxie avatars
- Premium certificates, special digital items, and badges
How much does the Premium plan cost?Included in Moxies annual - $69.99/year or monthly: $7.99/mo
Can Basic plan users join community groups?
No. Community groups are a Premium feature. Premium members can create and join private, invite-only groups designed for girls to connect safely with friends, teammates, classmates, cousins, camp friends, and more. All groups are moderated and parent-approved. 💜
How do I upgrade from Basic to Premium?
Upgrading is easy! Parents can upgrade anytime by opening the Moxies app and visiting the Parent Settings Section. It’s in the top left corner with a gear and lock icon.
Does my daughter need a Group Code to use Moxies?
No. Your daughter can create a Moxies account, complete quests, earn badges and rewards. Group Codes are only needed to join a private community group with friends.
What is a group code?
A Group Code is a unique code that allows girls to join a private, invite-only community group on Moxies. Group Codes are created and shared by a parent or group organizer, helping girls connect with real-life friends, teammates, classmates, cousins, camp friends, and other trusted communities in a safe, moderated environment.
Premium members can participate in multiple groups on Moxies. If you're a Premium member and don't have a Group Code yet, you can request one by emailing hello@joinmoxies.com
What if I have multiple children who want Moxies accounts?
No problem! You can use the same email address to register multiple children. Simply create an account for your first child, then register an additional child using the same email address and you'll be prompted to add them to your family account.
If you're already a Premium member, you'll have the option to add additional children at a discounted rate, with family pricing available for up to five children.
To ensure all of your children's accounts are connected under the same family account, we recommend signing in with Apple or Google and using the same email address each time you register.
Where do I enter my offer code for a Premium subscription?
If you're registering for Moxies, you'll have the option to enter your offer code when selecting your subscription plan. Simply scroll to the bottom of the subscription screen, enter your code, and then return to the plan you'd like to purchase.
If you're already a Moxies member and receive an offer code later, you can enter it in the Parent Settings section under Manage Subscription.

Can I cancel my Premium subscription?
Yes. You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your App Store subscription settings or by opening the Moxies app and visiting the Parent Settings Section. It’s in the top left corner with a gear and lock icon. Your Premium benefits will remain active until the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again unless you renew.
What are my responsibilities as a parent/ guardian?
- Creating Groups: Assist your daughter in setting up her private groups by and sharing the invite with friends and other parents. The group code information and invite comes via email from hello@joinmoxies.com. Check your spam if you requested and don’t see it within 48 hours.
- Providing Feedback: Share your thoughts and insights to help us improve Moxies and meet the needs of girls.
- Optional Involvement: Host an Event: Co-host a parent or girl-focused event with us—we’ll provide all the materials to make it simple and stress-free! Reach out to hello@joinmoxies.com if you’d like to bring us into your community in person.
How many groups can I start?
On Moxies, groups are private, invitation-only spaces where your daughter can safely connect with specific friends (for example, a sports team, classmates, or a club). Groups are only available for Premium account holders.
Currently, each user can create as many groups as they’d like and invite friends to join. You can also join additional groups created by others through their invitations.
If you’d like help setting up your groups or a new group, just email us at hello@joinmoxies.com and we’ll be happy to assist! Group codes are created within 24-48 hours.
What can a user do on Moxies?
Moxies offers a safe and empowering platform for girls to express themselves, connect with friends, and explore their creativity through fun, gamified features. Here’s what users can do:
- Invite-Only Groups: Create private chat groups for friends, such as classmates, teammates, or summer camp buddies, and share a unique invite code to connect safely.
- Fun Features: Build and customize personalized avatars, complete gamified quests, participate in polls and quizzes, and earn rewards to unlock cool digital items.
- Positive Development: Foster confidence, digital literacy, and meaningful connections in a secure, moderated environment that promotes healthy technology use.
What if I want to purchase a group membership for a school, sports team, Girl Scout troop, camp, or other organization?
We'd love to help! Moxies offers special group memberships and pricing for schools, teams, camps, clubs, Girl Scout troops, and other youth organizations. Contact us at hello@joinmoxies.com to learn more about bringing Moxies to your community.
How are these groups different from a normal group chat on imessage or WhatsApp?
Moxies is fully moderated by a combination of AI and human moderation teams, ensuring that all content is reviewed before being posted. Our moderation system is specifically designed to identify and address bullying, harmful language, and inappropriate behavior, fostering a safe and supportive environment for every user. Additionally, we are incorporating features to promote healthy digital habits, such as notification limits, suggested group chat times, chat etiquette, and screen time management, helping users develop strong self-regulation skills.
Is Moxies COPPA compliant?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. Moxies fully complies with COPPA regulations, including the latest legislative updates, and has proactively incorporated suggested KOSA guidelines to enhance our platform's safety features.
Is Moxies collecting data? How do you safeguard data? What information are you collecting?
Moxies collects minimal data to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, fully adhering to COPPA guidelines. We prioritize privacy by only collecting non-personally identifiable information (non-PII), such as feature engagement, popular themes, and overall app activity, to better understand how the platform is being used. This data helps us improve the experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety and privacy. Importantly, we do not collect PII from kids, and any future data handling will include tools for parental supervision, opt-out options, and privacy-by-default practices.
How does your chat moderation work?
Moxies combines AI-driven chat moderation with human oversight to ensure a safe and supportive environment. The AI scans messages in real-time for harmful content, such as bullying or inappropriate language and conversations, while human moderators review flagged interactions for further accuracy and context. This dual approach helps maintain high standards of safety, ensuring that the platform is free from toxic behaviors and fostering a positive experience for all users.
How does Moxies incorporate Healthy Digital Behaviors?
Moxies uses a safe-by-design approach rooted in positive youth development principles to foster healthy digital habits. Key features include:

What is Safe-by-Design?
Safe by design is a method of creating technology that prioritizes user safety, privacy, and well-being from the start. It embeds features like high default privacy settings, content safeguards, parental tools, and protections against addictive behaviors to minimize risks and ensure a trustworthy, positive experience.
What is my access to Moxies as a parent/ guardian?
As a parent or guardian, you co-register with your child so you always have access to her Moxies account. The platform is designed with high safety standards, clear expectations, and simple defaults to minimize the oversight you have to manage.
You’ll receive weekly emails highlighting what your daughter is exploring on Moxies—content themes, activities, and even conversation starters you can use at home. This gives you meaningful visibility into how she’s playing, learning, and connecting.
As Moxies grows, we’re continuing to build robust parental preferences and controls so you can stay informed and involved while your daughter enjoys a safe, empowering digital space.
